‘Do something with waste’, tells Daizy Tanwar, the DOT co-founder, over a phone call from the Ahmedabad studio. ‘Collect a few samples of the same tones and see what comes out of them’, she further adds. This ultimately became the brief for the collection.
The journey of the project somehow opened a new door of specialization for me. Experiments with surfaces and value addition masking intricate fabrics became a prominent learning outcome from this 4-month long project.
The two designers were looking forward to working with the weekly waste generated within the studio premises. A contemporary approach towards the collection formed the baseline of the project.
